The Bronx Borough President’s Office will respond to FOIL requests with electronic records by default. Where hard copies are requested or a response requires the provision of hard copies, The Bronx Borough President’s Office will produce such pursuant to the Public Officers Law § 87. Where the reproduction of records is not feasible, or where a requestor seeks to inspect records, the Records Access Officer will make the records available for inspection at a specific date, time, and location within Bronx Borough Hall.

Privacy Complaints Under the Identifying Information Law

The New York City Identifying Information Law (N.Y.C. Administrative Code section 23-1201 et seq.) governs how City agencies collect, retain, and disclose identifying information about members of the public. Identifying information includes your name, address, contact information, date of birth, immigration status, and other information that can be used to identify you.

If you believe this Office, or a contractor or subcontractor working for this Office, has improperly collected, used, disclosed, or accessed your identifying information, or someone else's, you may file a complaint.

How we use the information you provide

Information submitted in a complaint is itself identifying information. This Office collects it solely to receive, investigate, and resolve your complaint, retains it in accordance with applicable records retention schedules, and discloses it only as permitted by the Identifying Information Law and the Citywide Privacy Protection Policies and Protocols. That may include disclosure to the New York City Chief Privacy Officer, the New York City Law Department, or New York City Cyber Command where their involvement is needed to investigate or respond.
