Advisory Councils
The Community Services Unit is dedicated to promoting and advocating for equitable access to essential resources and services for the residents of Bronx County. The Community Services actively cultivates and maintains strong relationships with the borough’s diverse stakeholders, including cultural institutions, civic and nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, government agencies, and elected officials.
The CS team supports the Borough President and staff in fostering meaningful connections with external partners. As the outreach arm of the office, the Community Services Unit serves as a vital bridge between the Borough President and the broader Bronx community. We work to address critical local issues, ensure ongoing engagement with residents, and strengthen both existing and emerging partnerships to enhance the well-being of all who call the Bronx home.
The Bronx Borough President’s advisory boards are designed to offer both a forum and a direct line to City government to some of the borough’s most underrepresented groups. Through meetings, public events and other activities, Borough President Gibson and her staff work together with the members of each advisory council to focus on issues, advocacy and quality of life concerns not only for the groups represented by these councils, but for the entire Bronx.
