    On Friday, December 3, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted a roundtable discussion with several government agencies and community leaders to examine and address a series of bias attacks and crime incidents that had recently occurred in The Bronx.

    Representatives from the Mayor’s Office, NYPD, the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, as well as members of the borough’s faith-based, immigrant and LGBTQ communities, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations discussed strategies and plans to fight hate crimes and violence in the borough’s neighborhoods.

    “As community members, we all have the responsibility to promote a safer atmosphere in our streets. We need to work together to reduce crime and violence, and create a communal sense of responsibility to focus on policies that lead us to a better borough. The Bronx is tired of the violence, and we’ll keep working collectively to fight it,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
