On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted the 15th annual DiVA Spa at the Bronx Museum of Arts. The event was designed to bring domestic violence awareness information to Bronx residents.
“While October is Domestic Violence awareness month, we are working year-round, across agencies to put an end to this epidemic. Domestic violence impacts all of us, and I am committed to providing survivors with the power and the resources to survive and thrive,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. “It is my hope that our guests will leave feeling better about themselves and armed with the info and resources to prevent domestic violence or help a victim of domestic violence.”
This year’s event included a morning brunch and discussions on topics including domestic violence, financial literacy and career development. The brunch was followed by a yoga and meditation workshop, as well as free spa services for victims of domestic violence.
This year, DiVA Spa was sponsored by the New York Hispanic Cosmetology Chamber of Commerce, HBO and MetroPlus.
