Bronx, NY – On Saturday, June 22nd, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson and the Bronx LGBTQIA+ Task Force hosted the Bronx Pride March that began at 161st Street and the Grand Concourse, and continued through 149th Street, before heading east to 3rd Avenue and 149th Street. With Pride month celebrated nationally in June to commemorate the years of struggle for civil rights dating back to the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, the Bronx Parade is meant to increase the visibility and representation of the LGBTQIA+ community in Bronx County while celebrating diversity, and achievement throughout New York City.
The Bronx Pride March was following by a Bronx Pride Festival along Westchester Avenue off 3rd Avenue hosted by Destination Tomorrow and featuring the world-famous freestyle sensations, The Cover Girls, whose hits during the 1980’s and 1990’s including, “Show Me,” “Because of You,” “Promise Me,” and others that continue to be fan favorites.
