Bronx, NY – On Friday, June 14th, Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, hosted her annual Bronx Pride Celebration at Beatstro, located at 135 Alexander Avenue. This year’s event was sponsored by Montefiore Einstein, Destination Tomorrow, Verizon, VNS Health, NAICA, Union Community Health Center, and Fidelis Care.
Council Member Althea Stevens received the John Wade Award for her support for the LGBTQIA+ community, and Vivika Westwood emceed this year’s event.
Asha Lyons, Social Worker at the Gender Affirmation Program at VNS Health, was honored for her exceptional work in the fields of social work, public health, and anti-violence work & research for nearly 20 years.
