Bronx, New York – On Sunday, October 22, 2023, Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, in partnership with The Bronx Tourism Council; Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of New York, Inc.; Montefiore Einstein; J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.; The Bronx Community Foundation; Transportation Alternatives; and other event sponsors, greeted over 4,000 cyclists participating in this year’s 29th Annual Tour de Bronx.

Recognized each year as the largest free cycling event in New York State, a total of three routes were featured to accommodate both new and experienced cyclists. Those on the 40-mile route who departed at 11:00 a.m. enjoyed a special tribute to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop with a stop at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue. Those that registered for the 25-mile route left at 11:15 a.m. and riders on the new family-friendly 10-mile route that was added this year left at 11:30 a.m. All three routes ended at the New York Botanical Garden located at 2900 Southern Boulevard for a festival and concert that featured multi-platinum music producer Antwan “Amadeus” Thompson, and acclaimed radio personality, DJ Spynfo, owner of Sankofa Haus in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.

Established in 1994, Tour de Bronx not only showcases Bronx neighborhoods, scenic waterfronts, and greenways but also promotes healthy lifestyles, and alternative modes of transportation, as well as advocacy for continued investment in our borough`s biking infrastructure.
