“This is a sad and unfortunate tragedy and my condolences go out to this family. Our borough continues to face challenges with many complaints from residents about illegal drug activity in our communities but no one deserves to lose their life in this way. An investigation is underway by the Attorney General’s office and we have learned the NYPD has swiftly suspended the Narcotics Sergeant involved in this case. As the investigation is underway, we expect to learn more about this case that has led to the death of an individual in our borough.”
