“Today’s vote by the city council to pass police reform legislation is a commendable step towards justice in this city. We still have much work to do.
“The ‘Right to Know’ package of legislation moves the ball forward on equal rights, improved police/community relations and a more fair and just City.
“After much serious debate and the careful deliberative consideration that the legislation required, with the passage of these bills our City is now positioned to lead the way on criminal justice reform.
“I congratulate my colleagues in the City Council, especially the chief architects of these pieces of legislation Antonio Reynoso and Ritchie Torres, for all of their efforts as we continue to seek progress on these critical issues,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
