On Thursday, May 11, 2017, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted the Bronx Week 2017 Centenarian Celebration, honoring Bronxites who are 100 years or older at the Villa Barone Manor in Throggs Neck.
Borough President Diaz was joined at the event by (l) Ms. Beatrice Castiglia-Catullo, 100, founder of Regional Aid for Interim Needs (R.A.I.N.) and (r) Ms. Sarah Turner, who recently celebrated her 101st birthday at the R.A.I.N. Eastchester Neighborhood Senior Center.
“We’re proud to take time during Bronx Week to celebrate the lives of our senior citizens, their success and accomplishments, and we honor them for building the foundation of the new Bronx,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
