On Thursday, October 8, 2015, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted a meeting of his office’s Education Consortia, representing hundreds of educational institutions at all levels of the school system in every corner of the borough.
“Education is personal to me, and it is important that Bronx schools at all levels have the resources they need to ensure our students’ success,” said Borough President Diaz.
Over 100 school leaders attended the event, which took place at The Bronx County Building and featured remarks from New York City Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña and New York State Board of Regents Member Dr. Betty Rosa. The event offered school leaders an opportunity to discuss the climate of education in the borough and the city, as well as a chance to share best practices among each other.
