“Colin Cowherd’s insensitive remarks showed ignorance, insulting a whole country, a very proud and dedicated growing community. Major League Baseball has a rich Dominican history, from Hall of Famers such as Juan Marichal to Pedro Martinez to current players like Jose Bautista, Albert Pujols and Robinson Cano, that it seems incredulous that someone who deems themselves one of the smarter sports analysts in the business could make such an ignorant remark.
The Dominican community has been very active in helping this borough grow, making great things happen here in part because of their businesses and exciting culture. With over 210,000 individuals of Dominican heritage living in my borough, the largest Dominican population outside the island of Dominican Republic, as President of the Borough of The Bronx, I demand an apology from Mr. Cowherd,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
