Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. speaks about his legislation creating a system of grading nail salons and other cosmetology businesses before the New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, May 13. The event, which took place at Hostos Community College, was attended by over 60 Latino and Latina small business owners in the cosmetology industry.
In August, Borough President Diaz proposed a legislative package relating to the creation of a letter grading system for cosmetology businesses, including nail salons, spas, barber shops, beauty parlors and other similar establishments throughout the five boroughs.
