On Friday, March 6, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. gave remarks at the Bronx Developmental Disabilities Council’s Annual Legislative Breakfast, which focused on the issues faced by people with disabilities. Issues discussed at the event included budget and development concerns, as well as ways that elected officials can work to sustain and expand services for the individuals with disabilities in The Bronx.
“Throughout my career, I have always been an advocate for our disabled community. My office will continue to focus our efforts to ensure that our borough’s disability community has the resources and access to service that they need to succeed, and we will continue to support excellent organizations like the Bronx Developmental Disabilities Council in their efforts, as well,” said Borough President Diaz.
The Bronx Developmental Disabilities Council provides information and support to families who reside in The Bronx. Through various boards, committees and events, they provide a forum for the discussion of issues that affect the quality of life of the people they serve.
