On Monday, October 20, 2014, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. addressed a tour of developers, planners, architects and other urbanists from around the world attending the Urban Land Institute’s convention. Participants were first walked through the 161st Business Improvement District near Yankee Stadium, and later ate lunch at the Yankee Tavern.
During his remarks, Borough President Diaz discussed the tremendous renaissance of the “New Bronx,” highlighting for attendees the remarkable strides the borough has made over the past three decades.
“We are the American dream in The Bronx,” said Borough President Diaz. “If we are where we are today, anything is possible in the United States. All you need is the will. All you need is the intellectual capital. All you need is a little bit of faith, prioritizing, and planning with purpose.”
