“I applaud Governor Cuomo on his announcement of a new plan to reduce the number of New York State residents living with HIV infections. This three point plan—which includes greater access to testing and healthcare services—has incredible potential to reduce the number of HIV infections not just here in The Bronx, but across the entire state.

“The Bronx has a particular need for these services, given that we have some of the highest HIV infection rates in New York City, and my office is prepared to work with Governor Cuomo and the State Department of Health to make this new proposal work for the people of The Bronx,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
