Re: Continued Support for ‘Gun Crime Registry’ Proposal in Albany

"Today, I am pleased to report that State Senator Jeff Klein has included a language in the New York State Senate’s budget resolution to advance a proposal for the creation of a gun violence and violent felony offender registry.

"As this proposal continues to gain momentum at all levels of government my office will continue to work with our partners on this proposal, including State Senator Klein, Assemblyman Carl Heastie, City Council Member Peter Vallone Jr. and others to develop common sense legislation to create a public gun crime registry, in order to put the focus on stopping gun violence on those who deserve it the most: gun criminals," said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Borough President Diaz had an op-ed on this proposal published in the New York Daily News. Read it here: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/guest-create-statewide-registry-convicted-gun-criminals-article-1.1284567
