On Thursday, September 27, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and Mercy College School of Education announced the opening of the Bronx Parent Center, an innovative program empowering parents to support their children’s education through workshops, resources and leadership development.

The Center, generously outfitted with capital funding from Borough President Diaz’s office, will host workshops for parents to provide them with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully support their children’s educational experience. The Center will offer parent workshops on such topics as managing problem behaviors, strategies to support special needs children, helping with math, read-aloud strategies, parent leaderships and hands-on technology.
