  • Statement from Borough President Diaz RE: Gov. Cuomo’s
Order to End Fingerprinting Requirement for Food Stamp Recipients

“Today’s decision by Governor Cuomo to eliminate the fingerprinting requirement to receive food stamps is a great step forward for those residents of the Bronx and the entire State who rely on this critical assistance to make ends meet.  For years, individuals desperate for food stamp benefits were treated like criminals, simply to get the food they needed to provide for their families. That will no longer be the case, and I thank Governor Cuomo for doing the right thing by those who need our help the most,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
