    RE: Confirmation of Julissa Reynoso as Ambassador to Uruguay

    “I am proud to hear that one of our own, Julissa Reynoso, has been confirmed by the United States Senate to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to the Republic of Uruguay in South America, becoming the first Dominican American to be appointed as a United States ambassador in our history.

    “Ms. Reynoso is the epitome of the American Dream, born in the Dominican Republic and raised right here in the South Bronx. Her confirmation is truly a point of pride for both the Dominican community and for all Bronxites. We certainly wish her much luck in her future endeavors and know that she will make us proud in her new position,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
