“Today, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated a portion of the Grand Concourse as a historic district. My office has long been a supporter of this designation, and I am thrilled that this has finally been achieved. The Grand Concourse features one of the great repositories of art deco buildings in the United States, and this designation will help to preserve this heritage in Bronx County for generations to come,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
The boundaries of the designation lie between East 153rd and East 167th Street along the Grand Concourse.
