    RE: Court Decision to Shut the Advantage Program

    “This is a terrible decision, and it has the potential to devastate the lives of thousands of families in the Bronx and across the City. Without this housing program, the City will likely see an influx of homeless families in our shelter system, a development that will cost taxpayers more than simply keeping the Advantage program open.

    “My office has been working with families in the Advantage program to find them appropriate housing alternatives in the event that the program was closed for the past several months, and we will continue to do so, in order to ensure that these vulnerable families are not left out in the cold,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
