Bronx, NY – On Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Community Board 9 Chairman Mohammed Mujumder; First Vice-Chairman Angel Martinez; Board Member Marie Davis; and others were at Hugh Grant Circle at the Parkchester #6 Train Stop encouraging Bronx residents to apply for their local Community Board. For the 3rd year in a row, digital applications are available in both English and Spanish for interested applicants.

“Our community board members play a crucial role in our democracy by advocating on behalf of their neighbors and by being the voice of their communities,” said Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson. “The community boards represent the rich diversity of our borough, and we are excited this year to once again launch our digital applications. We encourage everyone eligible to apply, to do so and share the information with their friends and family.”

Last week, the Borough President hosted a virtual information session on community boards. Over 60 prospective Board Members learned about the process and what it’s like to become a Board Member. The Bronx Borough President’s Office annually accepts applications from city residents who reside, work, and/or have professional or other significant interests in the borough.
