Bronx, NY – Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson hosted her Black History Month celebration on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at Eastwood Manor located at 3371 Eastchester Road, Bronx, New York. The evening recognized the richness of African American tradition, culture, and history in the Bronx and featured special performances. CBS-2 Newscaster Alicea Reid served as emcee.
Receiving the Aurelia Greene Memorial Award was Deputy City Clerk Shirley Saunders. Also receiving awards were Woodlawn Cemetery for preserving the memories of prominent African-Americans; Celebrity Chef Kwame Onwuache; Rebecca Foster, Production, Ujima Sound Productions; Allyshia Renay Hamilton of Get Away For A Day With Allyshia Renay; and Slick Rick, Grammy Award Winner and Founder of Victory Patch Foundation.
