Broadcast to cover Bronx history, Bronx People, Bronx stories.

August24, 2020, Bronx, NY–The Bronx Tourism Council(BTC) has announced the launch of the new weekly podcast covering Bronx history…Bronx people…Bronx stories.

Go Bronx Podcast, a 15to 30minute show is hosted by Olga Luz Tirado, executive director of BTC and co-hosted by Bronx-born historian Angel Hernández. Together they will cover a wide range of historic topics and conduct interviews with Bronx cultural leaders and notables.

The first four episodes will include:the history of Swedish-born (and the borough’s namesake) Jonas Bronck; founding father and author of the preamble to the U.S. Constitution Gouverneur Morris; early 20th century mobster Dutch Schultz; and the inventor of “detective fiction” Edgar Allan Poe. Subsequent episodes will include interviews with other historians, experts, and everyday people.

Go Bronx Podcast will be available on multiple platforms such as Podbean, Stitcher, and Spotify and will air every Wednesday beginning August 26 and is also expected to air on iTunes Podcasts soon.
