“Today’s announcement is a clear victory for the fans.

“I am glad to see that the New York Yankees have heeded the call put forth by myself and others to modify an elitist ticket policy that was making it difficult for your everyday, blue-collar baseball fan to enjoy a day at the ballpark. The Bronx has some of the most loyal baseball fans in the world, myself included, and I’m happy to see the Yankees and StubHub have found a resolution that not only benefits both companies but will also benefit the fans, giving them more opportunities to watch their hometown team in action while also providing for the ease of ticket resale and use of mobile devices to access those tickets,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

In February, Borough President Diaz issued a letter to New York Yankees critical of the team’s policies on the resale of tickets. That letter can be read here.
