Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. has issued his expanded recommendations opposing Mayor Bill de Blasio’s proposed changes to the zoning law, known as “Zoning for Quality and Affordability” (ZQA) and “Mandatory Inclusionary Housing” (MIH).

“Something as profound as the future of development in our city cannot be rushed,” said Borough President Diaz. “When so many different communities have voiced objections to what Mayor de Blasio has proposed, those concerns must be taken seriously and given careful consideration. As they stand today, these text amendments are unacceptable.”

On November 19, 2015, the Bronx Borough Board voted unanimously 0-19-1 in opposition to the proposed text amendments. Borough President Diaz’s remarks opposing Mayor de Blasio’s proposals can be read here: http://on.nyc.gov/1LxQ6K4.
