  • Borough President Diaz Joins NYC Parks & Recreation Commissioner Veronica White and Other Elected Officials To Cut The Ribbon at the New Van Cortlandt Park Ice Skating Rink

    On Monday, November 19, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., joined Parks & Recreation Commissioner Veronica White, State Senator Jeff Klein, City Council Member G. Oliver Koppell, Assembly Member Jeffrey Dinowitz , Bryant Park Corporation President Dan Biederman, members of the Van Cortlandt Park Conservancy, and others to cut the ribbon for the inaugural season of the new Van Cortlandt Park Ice Skating Rink. The seasonal rink, which is the first public ice skating rink in the Bronx, will be open from noon to late evenings during the fall and winter. The rink is easily accessible via public transportation – located near the #1 train, the Riverdale Metro North Station and several bus lines. Hockey and skating lessons, as well as skate and locker rentals will be available.
