STATEMENT FROM BRONX BOROUGH PRESIDENT RUBEN DIAZ, JR., ON THE APPOINTMENT OF LAURA RODRIGUEZ TO NEW DOE POSITION
“One of my recommendations regarding the reauthorization of mayoral control was that the Department of Education creates a cabinet level position charged with overseeing the needs of special education students across the City. I am very pleased with the appointment today of Laura Rodriguez as Chief Achievement Officer for Special Education and English Language Learners. I consider Laura a friend, and I look forward to working with her in the future to ensure that the students who need the most help have access to the resources they deserve,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.
