“I would like to congratulate my good friend Félix V. Matos Rodríguez on his new position as President of Queens College. Felix has made a tremendous impact on the life of countless students and residents in The Bronx during his five years serving as President of Eugenio María de Hostos Community College.

“My office has worked with Félix on many initiatives, and has provided capital funding on projects such as Hostos Community College’s Natural Science and Allied Health Building. Félix was a true champion for this transformative project, and his strong advocacy helped garner wide support for this proposal.

“Aside from his scholarly accomplishments, Félix has demonstrated a commitment to public service and to the success of all students. I, as well as the 1.4 million residents of The Bronx, thank Félix for his great leadership and a job well done and wish him continued success in his new position,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
