On Thursday, March 20, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and his wife Hilda hosted their annual Women’s History Month Celebration at the New York Botanical Gardens. Among those honored this year were Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez; New York City Public Advocate Letitia James; New York Stated Education Department Regents Member Dr. Betty Rosa. Community advocate Allene Roberts was honored posthumously. The event featured live music and a special performance by the Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls.
