RE: Legal Update on the ‘Fair Wages for New Yorkers Act’

“I am happy to learn that Mayor Bloomberg’s lawsuit over the ‘Fair Wages for New Yorkers’ Act has been dismissed, and that this law will continue to cover New York City workers without interruption.

“When new projects voluntarily take a heavy taxpayer subsidy they should pay their employees a living wage and this law ensures just that. As I have said all along, this bill is sound policy and will have a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of workers across the city,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
