  • Statement from Borough President Diaz

“I am deeply troubled that two Bronx elected officials have been ensnared in a political corruption probe.

“We have come a long way here in the Bronx and these reported actions should by no means cast a bad light on the hundreds of hardworking elected and public officials, in my borough and beyond, who work every day to represent their constituents and solve problems for their communities.

“Public service is a privilege, and violations of the public’s trust cannot be tolerated.  These are serious and disturbing charges which need to be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.

“The people of the Bronx and this great city deserve to know the truth. The Bronx, as well as the entire City of New York, deserves honest, corruption free government,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
