  • Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. Celebrates Black History Month

    On Wednesday, February 13, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. hosted a celebration of Black History Month 2013 to honor community leaders in recognition of their valuable contributions to the residents of The Bronx and the city. This year’s honorees were: Former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, Co-op City community activist Francine Reva Jones as well as Renaissance: Education, Music and Sports in the Bronx. WABC TV Anchor Lori Stokes was the Mistress of Ceremonies at the event which featured live performances by the MS 390 Choir and the Karl Browne Band. The event was held at the Dreiser Loop Community Center in Co-op city.
