RE: Decision by the Court of Appeals on Kachalsky, et al. v. Cacace

“Today’s decision by the Court of Appeals on Kachalsky, et al. v. Cacace is a victory for the people of the Bronx and of New York City who are concerned about the scourge of gun violence in our communities and heavily support stronger gun laws.

“As senseless acts of violence continue to harm our neighborhoods, it is clear that we need aggressive gun laws in our state, so that our communities will be safer and more secure. The case of Kachalsky, et al. v. Cacace, is a victory for public safety, as it keeps our state’s stringent concealed carry laws intact and could lead to fewer victims of gun violence,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
