RE: Hunts Point Market’s $10 million Federal Grant

“I am thrilled to hear about this new federal grant that will help redevelop The Hunts Point Produce Market which is a tremendous hub of economic activity, one that provides jobs to thousands of Bronxites.

“My office, along with the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, will continue to work with this administration and the merchants of the co-op on a long-term deal that will ensure that The Hunts Point Market remains in the Bronx for decades to come. I am confident that such a deal will happen and that the market will remain in Hunts Point for the foreseeable future.

“I would like to thank our State Congressional delegation, Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand for securing this important federal investment. Bronxites owe them all a debt of gratitude for their efforts,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
