RE: Hunts Point Market Entrance Identification Agreement

“I am pleased to hear that representatives at the Hunts Point Produce Market have heard my office’s plea to revoke their recent rule requiring merchants and those entering the market to provide valid government identifications.

“My office, together with the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation, believe this new regulation would have not only negatively impacted the Hunts Point Market but also our borough’s economy, being that many of those merchants act as major employers in our City—employers who give those in need a second chance. I am glad that, moving forward, a picture ID will suffice to enter the market,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
