“I welcome the announcement of the closure of all teacher reassignment centers by the end of this year. Historically these centers have been symbols of dysfunction and waste that have cost the city millions of dollars and have denied teachers accused of wrongdoing a prompt review of their cases. I look forward to a fairer process that will not be as costly to our school system and return teachers who are cleared of wrongdoing back to the classroom as soon as possible,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
