Maria Lopez, 67 years old, got her flu shot from Denise Chevere, a nurse from Union Settlement Homecare, during the free vaccination program organized by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

On Thursday, November 19, a group of 380 residents received a flu shot as part of a program of free vaccination organized by the Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Bronx District Public Health Office, Union Settlement, Lincoln Hospital Medical Center and Touro College of Pharmacy’s.

“One of the most important public health measures in preparation for the winter season is influenza vaccination. I want to help Bronxites to take the necessary previsions to fight viruses like the dangerous H1N1 and the seasonal flu,” said Borough President Diaz.
