“It is unacceptable that eight Bronx Post Offices, employing dozens of Bronx residents, have been slated to close. The neighborhood post office is an institution that all Bronxites, especially our seniors and those without ready access to new technology, rely on for numerous important services. I will work with the Bronx Congressional delegation and other officials to do everything possible to find the money to keep these vital resources open for business,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

The United States Postal Service has announced the potential closure of 677 Post Offices across the nation, including eight in The Bronx, as a cost-cutting measure.

Those branches are: Botanical, Clason Point, Crotona Park, Hillside, Hub, Melcourt, Oak Point, and Van Nest.
