    RE: World AIDS Day

"Today, December 1, we recognize World AIDS Day.  I want to take this opportunity to remind Bronxites, and in fact all New Yorkers, that knowing your status is incredibly important, and is the best way to combat HIV/AIDS.  When you visit your doctor or healthcare provider, take a moment and get tested.  Everyone should take the time to know their status,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Borough President Diaz’s office is co-hosting an event for World AIDS Day on Friday, December 12. The flyer for that event can be found at http://on.nyc.gov/1rMHEDZ.

In 2009, Borough President Diaz recorded public service announcements, in both English and Spanish, urging people to know their status and get tested for HIV/AIDS. They can both be watched at http://on.nyc.gov/1rNPqrH.
